Reporting to the Unit Manager, I was responsible for identifying and responding to unacceptable levels of operational risk within a business critical division of the bank, auditing and amending role-based system access, managing a Reporting database and reporting KPI information.
I was responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of supply chain logistics for this major London NHS trust by managing time-critical order fulfilment of medical and surgical supplies both from the trust's central pharmacy and from external suppliers.
Reporting to the Operations Director and working to challenging KPIs, I took responsibility for the day-to-day operation and financial performance of the depot, maintenance of discipline, management of short - and long-term absence, management of the supervisory team, recruitment, legislative compliance, procurement and customer relations. I was also responsible for conducting internal investigations throughout the company and compiling competition compliance data for the OFT and Competition Commission. I have represented the Company at various strategic and community involvement meetings to the Local Authority, Passenger Transport Executive, NHS Trust, and Traffic Commissioner.
Working within the small Thomas Cook Sport team in Bradford I was engaged on a temporary contract to help facilitate the team's anticipated, and ultimately realized, move to Manchester. Instructed on a Support basis, I worked closely with the staff and customers of various functions of this largely autonomous area of the business, including Operations, Sales, Marketing, Graphic Design, Customer Service, and Accounts.
Instructed on a series of temporary contracts I worked as a Service Controller for this nationwide refrigeration maintenance company during university vacations, taking responsibility for the co-ordination of a large team of Refrigeration Technicians, ensuring that the reactive and planned maintenance requirements of a number of national high-value clients were fulfilled, specifically attending call-outs within a four-hour response time whilst ensuring preventative maintenance was taken. This role involved persuasion, customer service, administration, and organizational skills.
Working within a small control team I am responsible for identifying and mitigating operational risk within the Global Payment Operations division at this tier-one investment bank. I protect the bank from risk by designing and reviewing robust operational procedures, managing governance around access to bank applications, performing process testing, and ensuring that breaks in the general ledger balances are resolved. I am also responsible for reviewing SLAs, managing critical spreadsheets, business continuity planning and managing licensed applications. In addition, I am an active member of the Employee Engagement Committee working to improve morale, diversity and inclusion within the location and the division globally.
